Is this strange
warm and cool weather of Autumn leaving your skin just as confused as your
closet? Don't even sweat it, after I chatted with Natalie, one of Calista Grand's amazing
Massage Therapists, I got the lowdown on how to keep your skin healthy during
this inconsistent season.
The answer is
simple- exfoliation! When you exfoliate, it removes the dry, dead skin cells
so that there is better penetration for your face and body products; this allows
the products to be absorbed instead of laying on the surface. Not only used
for your beauty purposes, it's very important for the health of your skin to exfoliate so that your body
regenerates new cell growth...which in turn minimizes wrinkles (oh yes, I went
there because nobody wants wrinkles right?). The massage therapists and estheticians offer body
scrub recipes like the Sea Salt Scrub and the Orange Vanilla Scrub, which is
finished with a firming moisturizer. These services are essential for improving your
body's circulation of blood and lymph to the surface of your skin. Not only
does this extra circulation help minimize and fight cellulite, it works double
time by improving your skin tone leaving it bright, soft and smooth.
Natalie
recommended that using a scrub only once or twice a week is enough to reap some
serious benefits. Any more and you could damage the young skin layer under the
previously sloughed dead cells. She also stresses that when your skin is extra
dry, be cautious so that you don't over scrub.
All of this talk
of bright clear skin is making me crave the Orange Vanilla Scrub- a perfect
pair to this beautiful early October.
